Steam energy started roughly 290 years ago in England 1712 and begun its uses in the American colonies in 1755.

Steam is a very useful force in today’s cures for global warming and Green energy.

Steam and its uses in residential homes, It is my opinion that steam heat is one of the most comfortable and reliable sources of comfort heating. Now some people may argue this point with me and I would listen to some of the arguments like, expensive upkeep, somewhat, clanging in piping, true, if the steam head is traveling into water yes. Cure ‘pitch radiators so that the condensate water from the steam travels back to the boiler for regeneration of steam, if the condensate water gets back to the boiler properly the boiler will not have to boil cool water to 212 degrees + it will only have to boil water that is already 160 to190 degrees which is the water that comes back from the radiators, technical term for this is Delta T, This means basically what the latter statement says. When the condensate is basically within the design temperature the boiler will consume less natural gas which in turn will save you money.

Homeowner maintenance like draining your boiler twice a week all year long through it drain port from the low water cut off or you drain cock will increase the boilers life as well as aiding in the least amount of rust and scale that may and will clog the piping and the controls and of course the site glass. 

If you own a steam boiler you may know all this information already, however have you looked at your radiators and see if they pitch back towards the radiator shut off valve? (one pipe system). Have you drained your boiler through the summer? If not now is a good time to start because the cool weather will be here before you realize it and then you will be scrambling to get the steamer working properly.
